The Studio

JBC's studio...our new adventure!

At the end of 2022, my husband and I closed on JBC's future studio in downtown Sarcoxie, Missouri which is just off I-44 about halfway in between Joplin and Springfield. The studio is a former general store, pharmacy, accounting firm, and florist shop. It's an old building with a rich history and some really pretty bones that include the original vintage tin ceiling and some rough but stunning hardwood floors.

We haven't had much time to work on the studio since we gave birth to our first baby in July of 2022, but we're working at it slowly and steadily. The inside has been cleaned and painted with a fresh new coat of white paint that reflects light beautifully.

Our next steps include filling the studio with some unique furniture and decor, potentially exposing a brick wall, and of course gathering lots of backdrops, props, and building a client closet! My goal for this space is beauty AND comfort. I want my clients to arrive and leave feeling relaxed!

I would describe my vision for this space as bright and neutral with natural bohemian elements. This is the PERFECT cozy space for newborn, family, branding, and boudoir sessions.

The JBC client closet

Below you will find some of the items currently available in my client closet. This collection is growing slowly and steadily. I will continue to add new styles and sizes as I find pieces that meet my criteria. You will never be required to use the client closet, but I have selected these pieces because they fit my style well and the colors edit beautifully. If you want to choose your own outfit for a session I highly recommend a neutral, solid color. Some of my favorite clothing colors to edit are: tan, rust, cream, beige, terracotta, mustard, white, brown.
